FAQ

FAQ

Do you provide tour guide services in any other language besides English?
Sorry, but services are provided in only English at this time.
Can a tour guide meet us at JR Himeji Station?
Our tour guides will normally meet your party at Otemon Gate (main gate) of Himeji Castle. If you wish to make other arrangements, please contact your assigned guide to request alternate arrangements.
How long will you be able to guide us?
Normally 2 ~ 3 hours.
Can we have 1 guide (instead of 2) for 10 people?
Based on the size of your party, we will decide and advise the services that we can provide to you. For your convenience, we typically recommend 1 guide for every 5 people since the castle has narrow and steep staircases and is frequently crowded with many tourists.
We want change our tour schedule, what we should do?
If your new schedule is less than one week, we may not be able to accommodate your request. However, you may contact your assigned guide to see if they are available for your new date or time.
Why don’t you charge a guide fee?
Our English Guide Group is composed of 70 volunteers. Our purpose is to introduce the magnificent World Heritage Himeji Castle to the world and expand friendship.
Why do you charge¥1,000 per guide?
This amount is charged only for requests received from corporations, including educational corporations, public works organizations or tourism operators. This amount helps to cover the cost of the guide’s travel and management expenses.
After I send application form, what I should do?
You should receive an e-mail from your assigned guide within approximately one week. If you do not receive a response within this timeframe, please let us know.
Do you offer guide services in Mt. Shosha (northwest of Himeji)?
We would be happy to guide your visit to Mt. Shosha which has a 1,000-year history as a sacred religious site. Your assigned guide will contact you.
